With a manor house as their backdrop, and an iconic pair of fun-loving romantics as their muse, Fire & Ice’s breathtaking wedding cinematography teams were ready to capture every crazy beat of this energetic duo’s special day. Armed with industry-leading kit like the Sony A7Riii and A79ii, stocked with 35mm and 105mm lenses, our photography team would need every still they could catch to frame the essence of this elegant but ever-energised couple. Our videography team, armed with the reliable Sony A7Siii, were ready to shoot every dance move like the day was a music video, and Doria & Alie were unafraid to throw some shapes. The real challenge of a wedding that’s this much fun? Trying to keep up with the bride and groom!
THE NEWLYWEDS
Of all the challenges of 2020’s lockdowns, staying connected was one of the biggest, but from the struggles came this blossoming love story. After meeting online in February 2020, before they’d even met in person, Doria & Alie were inseparable and kept in touch every day over video calls, before finally meeting in the June. Respecting Doria’s traditions, Alie flew to France to meet her father, asking him for her hand in marriage in the summer of 2021, when our once long-distance loves began planning their special day. Sticking true to their online backstory, Doria & Alie spend their free time together gaming on their Switch, or enjoying TV shows.
The venue
Nestled in the borders of Surrey and Hampshire, Froyle Park is spoilt for choice when it comes to its majestic surrounding scenery, standing proud as the perfect setting for a picturesque wedding like Doria & Alie’s. With 80 acres of rolling countryside to engulf the 16th century manor house, Fire and Ice had all they needed for some grand landscape shots of the venue and its serene rural backdrop.
The WEDDING
When the special day came, our award-winning wedding cinematography team couldn’t have wished for a more fantastical day to shoot – from panning, scenic shots of the manor house and its surrounding beauty, to energetic closeups of our non-stop, fun-loving duo and their spirited bridal party who didn’t let the vibes drop once! For the softer moments of the ceremony, cotton-candy pink bouquets decorated the scene as our elegant bride graced the aisle and every frame of our signature photography.
But our riotous couple couldn’t be tamed for long, and their reception roared into action, with Fire & Ice ready to capture the bustling, boujee energy throughout. Glasses of prosecco greeted every guest on arrival, setting the party up with an outpouring of class. Rich pastel reds, soft peach and eggshell tones laced the arrangements throughout the scene, the bouquets bordering a dancefloor set under hanging glass baubles. High class was still very much in attendance with golden-rimmed plates and cutlery to match on every table, serving up Fire & Ice a buffet of glamour to capture in every moment.
But the stars of our show still had tricks up the sleeves of their first outfit change of the night – donning a classical North African wedding attire that sported rich, dark navy tones, Doria paid a classy homage to her heritage, before another change to a softer, light brown West African wear, embezzled with dazzling glitters and flecks, symbolising Alie’s family roots, and welcoming Doria in as the latest addition.
For the final touch, our videography and photography teams captured a beautiful first dance between our adventurous duo, set and styled with EG Smoke Bombs and sparklers, framed and shot like an old-school movie scene with double the colour.
